I witnessed how my grandmother engaged in trade by barter, I can still remember the processes and the decisions she took to close a deal. Technically such decisions are based on the principles of Decision Science.
Festus Kwode is a business leader and a trainer with knack and interest for connecting industry to academia. He has trained over 3,000 Africans and non-Africans on Business Leadership, Business Process Development and Quality, Risk, Safety & Environmental Management. Our premium courses being the mini MBA in Business Leadership and mini MBA in Oil and Gas Management.
He is the founder of Swiss Register, Lymetrix 3D Laser Technology and Co-founder of ArchiveMax LLC (USA). He has over 20 years of experience in Business Process Engineering, Business Process Improvement and Human Capital Development across a spectrum of industries.
Festus studied Mechanical Engineering in the then Bendel State University (now Ambrose Ali University). He holds Coventry University MBA degree in Oil and Gas Management.
He is IRCA Certified Lead Auditor, NASP Level IV accredited Trainer and Certified Safety Manager.He also has Certificate in Risk Management, Certificate in Training and Education, Diploma in Quality Management, Certificate in Environmental Management etc.
He is the author of Business Improvement quick book series – Quality, You and the Organisation, Organisational Knowledge and Competency framework, ISO9001:2015 in its simplest form.

I was teaching a class of 6 students sometime February 2016 and a student asked “What is the nature of your business and what do you do?” To my surprise, four of the students answered him, but all four provided different answers. My response posed a question mark in their minds.

Over the years I have developed several business concept notes mostly in the Energy and Telecom Sector. Again, one of my major technical strengths is Physical Asset Valuation – Technical & Commercial.

It is very important to know that we are all different. We are all great at somethings and worse at some other, and no one is perfect. We all live our lives in communities of various types and sizes but it all amount to different layers of the same reality. The strength lies in the diversity of humanity. Festus, born in the early 70s, spent most of his early age in Warri where neighbours live like brothers and sisters, moving to Lagos after graduation from the university gave him a different perspective about lifestyle. Lagos is where you create your world, your good morning might be good evening to others. Community interface is not integrated yet social drives are more pronounced. Again in Lagos, you have the ability to define your community irrespective of your immediate environment, you might be living in downtown but your community is in Ikoyi and vice versa. The first challenge is moving yourself around town and getting to understand the type of community you fit – in. “Initially it was difficult but today I am a Lagosian.” According to him, ‘I have been able to locate my community in Lagos, thus I have also created my own world and lifestyle’.- He created the WhatsApp Group called Lead Auditor – where great minds discuss technical issues on process and business improvement concepts.
